Gabriel Knight(1) Compatibility Problem
Hi,
I'm trying to run Gabriel Knight Sins of The Fathers. In dosbox the speed of the text is too fast to read, even with the cycles put down incredibly low. That just results in the animation grinding to a halt, but the text speed remains the same. The game is pretty much unplayable in vdmsound - the screen is mangled, and it is very, very, slow. I've also trying running it under the windows95 compatibility mode, but the game doesn't even load. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated :) EDIT: Problem solved, I edited the configuration file. Mods feel free to delete this if you like :D |

Please forgive the double post but this is a new problem :)
The game runs perfectly with the solution already described above. however, there is an in game bug (apparently notorious,) and it's a fatal error - Fatal Error loading resource 228.snd:__\restype.cpp(54) Script 64989/$ed It occurs at the begining of day 7 (directly after the end of day 6 cutscene.) I searched around and saw that most people suggested skipping the cutscene. This doesn't stop the bug happening though. Any suggestions for a solution or where to find a saved game after the bug occurs would be very much appreciated. It took me so long to play this game I'll be damned if I can't finish it :) |
