Marathon 2 - Durandal
In case you all didn't know, Bungie (the company who made Halo) have just made their Marathon trilogy available for free download. Personally I think Marathon is one of the weirdest games I ever played (and not cool weird either), but some people seem to love them. Will Kosta be wanting to host them on AB?
EDIT: I forgot to add that it is possible (and easy) to run them in Windows. |
:w00t:
I love the Marathon games! I had a friend who was obsessed with them and knew them in and out (the guy owned a Mac, Marathon was one of the only good games released on Mac) and from what he enthused at me and from what I played of them, they seemed really good games. Many elements of the games, particularly multiple endings and branching game paths were cutting edge at the time (well, still are now in many ways) and were really well integrated into the game as a whole. |
double-double shotgun was cool!!! :-D
nice concept with forcefield (instead of health). much more logical. we saw that later in Half-life environmentatl suite. how about a link then? :D |

I think i get it someday :w00t:

how do you know they are not pirated? that site you linked to is not from Bungie. Bungie Studios doens't have any downloads offered. |
I found this at Bungie.net
http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=481167 Looks like you can legally download Marathon. |
excuse me mister, do you know what is this topic about?
|
Yeah, I arsed up there...anyway, the link does contain an area that contains downloads of Marathon, and as it's on Bungie's website, it shouldn't be pirated.

In my opinion "Marathon 2: Durandal" is better than DOOM.
