This is very very lame, the sole reason why I used it was because it didn't ask for registration otherwise I can use photobucket or whatever.
So please post alternatives (I will not endorse lameness), I only know of http://www.imagesforme.com

That figures. I had nothing but trouble when I tried to u/l to Imageshack.

Tulac 04-01-2007 11:57 PM

Well actually I was wrong you don't have to register, registration is for those extra features. :tomato:
Well still post alternatives which offer more picture size and stuff then.

Personally, I think that uploading images without registration is a bad thing.
Been on the receiving end of a heavy harassment campaign executed through such means - every time Imageshack removed one of the files I reported, the bastards just uploaded a new copy and kept going.
Requiring registration to store images means that such individuals can be identified and blocked out of the service.

Freedom of speech. Everyone should be able to upload what they want. If they harras you just ignore them. I've had such stuf going on too.

Well as I wrote in the 2nd post you don't have to register after all, and I don't really see how not registering can be a bad thing. I mean no one forces you to watch whatever is posted on imageshack. Control of the internet is bad since it's the only medium that isn't truly controled, and if there would be more people thinking like you internet would go downhill before you say snap. *SNAP*

Other people can't even see who uploaded an image, and unless you are uploading porn to ImageShack, there is nothing to worry about. God, what people.

That's where we disagree. What if someone started uploading images with text like "U-Boat Commander David is retarded!!!", posted them on some forum you frequent and the staff for some reason refused to remove them? Well?

Also, remember that there is no such thing as true freedom of speech. Everywhere you turn, there are rules and limitations.
On Imageshack, that is because of the Terms of Service. So, if someone repeatedly uploaded content that breaks Imageshack's TOS, they have all the right in the world to give that person a permament boot from their services. Requiring registration to upload images allows them to identify such individuals, and no casual viewer has to know who exactly uploaded what.
