They plan to check all our mails at work. i want to encript some of it.

i am looking for a freeware encryptor that would:

1. encrypt normal tekst message
2. does not need to be installed on the system (i.e. can just be extracted and it works like IrfanView or Windows commander). <-- his is a must cause i have no admin right and most stuff is banned for me ot mess around in windows. including any instalation of programes is a problem.
3. should work on WinXP SP2

any one knows of such programme? well if you do then let me know.

Fight the power! :titan:

There is ROT-n encryption, with several online encrypters. Sounds like just the thing for you.

well the idea is not to have a public key but two keys know only to me and the person i am sending the encrypted data.

How about this? http://members.aol.com/brimiljeep/WebPages...onToolPage.html

I have no idea how secure it is, but against the casual snooper, it should be enough I guess.

The monitor the network traffic as well, so it would be a lot of it for this page. hmm unless i could somehow save the file that runs it....

well i found a nice one named NoSee (free for personal use). doesn't require install, works nice on my home computer. but not here at work. the programme delets the original file when it encrypts it. and somehow my windows at work is blocking that, causing a runtime error.

Well there are ways of getting administrative priviliges on your PC at work :sneaky:

Beside, it turned out that cipher wasn't secure at all. Frequency analysis will break it, if you actually bother to try. A letter/number will be translated into a 3 digit number, and that number will remain the same throughout the whole cipher text.

If you, for amusement or out of general interest in cryptography, want to check out a really hard cipher to break, find a "one time pad" generator and a "Vigenere" encryptor. Of course, since computers are utterly unabl to generate truely random numbers, this is like I said "just" a really hard cipher to break. Get truely random numbers, and it is truely unbreakable.

Possibly, but they would also notice it since we are constantly in network as users.

i will continue to search for some good encription that doesn't need to be installed. I actually think NoSee could work, if only it didn't had instant file deleting when it creates the coded file.

W00t! all it needed was a c:\temp folder and it works. they also have special txt encryptor that is going to keep your passwords safe.

the programe creates a totally new file, erases the previous one and overwrites it. it doesn't require any install and it's very small (78kB) quite cool and quite sufficient for me.

anyway if anyone else is interested in these things here is the creators website:

Teaches you to use work email for work stuff and private email for private stuff ;)

After I found out they monitor my calls at work, I only use my cell phone for private stuff.
