Looking for an old game, maybe you can help?

The game is from the early 3D days (probably 5-10 years old)

This is what i can remember:

1. could choose between 3-4 characters
2. the story was that you were in virtual reality and that there was a computer virus that chased you around the levels.
3.You moved around the levels by laying down colored plates and walking on them, the plates were in different coulours and they had to match.
4. The "virus" chased you by erasing the paltes that you lay down and you had to keep moving because it would kill you if it caught up.

I think there was a review in an old (now defunct) games mag with screenshots that looked much like what you describe.
Can't recall exact title, sorry.

Isn't it annoying, I used to have the game on a demo CD and it only had a few of the levels...

I think the name was something like taser or eraser or something like that...

anyway, I'll keep looking
