I'm not sure if this can be done here at Abandonia, but still: An idea:

Could it be useful to have a kind of games/clues database, where you type the clues you have for that game you're looking for, and each clue narrows the search for you, and finally then the db presents the suggested games with say, a mobygames link or something similar and their abandonware status?

That would be impossible. In that database, every feature of a game would need to be added, and there are thousands of old games.

Dunno.... It doesn't have to have ALL POSSIBLE clues (that is an impossibility other than a thought). Beside, "anyone" could add tags to the games: If you find the game, but your clues weren't of any use, you could tag the game yourself. Then, as more and more people tag the games, more and more clues would pay off. I have no idea how it could be done, but the concept itself, I think, could be worth looking into.

Oh, you mean something on the lines of MobyGames' Game Browser. That would be possible.

The idea occured to me when I looked at Pandora (the DIY-radio). They asked you for a band/song, and then they found something tagged the same way, you then gave that new song thumbs down or thumbs up, and the search for your favourite music was then narrowed down.

Yup, game browser is planned for the upcoming version of the site ;)
