I hope this doesn't sound all too dumb but I allways associated Warhammer with some kind of table top strategy game, where the players led their armies against each other, with a medieval and a 40k version. So what has Blood Bowl to do with Warhammer, or is this something completely different?

From what I remember - cos I never had the game...

Blood Bowl was a kind of violent american football board game played with warhammer figures (and had some warhammer-like rules?)

I think the connection was the company games workshop who were I think responsible for both games.

Yes, they both have orcs, goblins, etc., they are both played with plastic figures, dice rolling and other Warhammer rules still apply and they are made by Games Workshop.

Sounds as if it would be a spin off to make even more money with an allready expensive game. Well at least some of these little figurines look really awesome, so lets have a look if this game here can compete with 'em...

Hopefully I can find time to try this out this weekend since it's a Warhammer game I've never heard of (I haven't even heard of this board game!).

I remember spending some time playing this in my youth(board game), was fun, but the novelty soon wore off and went back to the orginal WarHammer game. :D :Titan:

Actually, the Blood Bowl board game is much cheaper than Warhammer. Less figurines. The fun is still there. I recommend everyone to try it (the boardgame).

Just tried to run it with DOSBox (and without) and got this error:

Can't load C:\Blood\ART\ART.WAD

Real highwater = 3324:4E10 (229456 bytes)
XMS highwater = 0

Any help?

Don't forget Warhammer was also a roleplaying game. WFRPG (Warhammer Fantasy RolePlaying Game) had some very cool ideas in it. I never played it with figurines. It's meant to be played with them, but it doesn't need them.
