What if a game update would contain a script that changes the empty review translation fields of the new game(s) to "Not yet translated." in the respective languages? New guests could be confused by the missing reviews without explanation. But it would have to be safe that in no case an existing translation could be overwritten. The only but heavy problem is that all new games would move to "Edit stuff", "Reviews" because the translation fields would contain something. Or not?

Wonderful idea.

Not really... I can make a script that checks if a translation exists, and if not - display that message. I'll implement it tomorrow :ok:
|
Even better. I didn't know if that check is possible within the system without complications so I posted the other method - dumb me - I could have made it easier for me if I had posted my first thoughts. :D Now also the old games will be included. :ok:

Make it display a translatable message, otherwise it would serve us no use.
Woops. I just read the "in the respective languages" part. Sorry. Disregard this post. |
I agree that it must be clearer to see what pages is translated. As it is now I doubt people even check for translations and mostly just go to english page. It is a waist of a lot of work by many dedicated translators here.

Sorry for resurrecting this topic, just wanted to say that I have implemented a script that checks if a translation exists or not and then displays appropriate flags, so there shouldn't be any links to non translated reviews any more!

What happens? The english database is searched?
|
The English database is searched but the links go to the specific language, of course, and so you can come to untranslated reviews. But it's not bothering me - I only wanted to mention it.
