This was after a long battle with cancer. RIP Steve, you will be missed.

Gah, this was a long time coming, very sad. I am interested to see how Apple goes now without their figurehead.

I was in class when I heard about it. Very sad news. :(

I might not like apple, but Steve was a great visionary.

a visionary? yes, he envisioned people using pads eventhough they (although called PADD) were heavilly featured 10-15 yerars earlier in the star trek series and used in more "niche" markets (military, aviation....)

Indeed. I can't say I like a guy who decided that backspace and a right-click mouse button were superfluous, then went for form over function every time. But millions bought into that, so he was lucky.
