This was after a long battle with cancer. RIP Steve, you will be missed.

Gah, this was a long time coming, very sad. I am interested to see how Apple goes now without their figurehead.

I was in class when I heard about it. Very sad news. :(

I might not like apple, but Steve was a great visionary.

This is a great loss for the tech world.

Poor guy. No money can save you when your number is called.

Great loss for Apple and the tech world, but the greatest for his family.

RIP Steve.

I read about it, then everyone on my dorm floor went into the halls to shout about it like it was the kennedy assassination.

Maybe he was Ironman. :p

a visionary? yes, he envisioned people using pads eventhough they (although called PADD) were heavilly featured 10-15 yerars earlier in the star trek series and used in more "niche" markets (military, aviation....)

You, my friend, say aloud what I think in silence since many years.

It is like when youngsters take Dance Dance Revolution dance pads as a revolutionary step in gaming... Nevermind Nintendo used those exact same pads about 15 years ago with the NES???

Indeed. I can't say I like a guy who decided that backspace and a right-click mouse button were superfluous, then went for form over function every time. But millions bought into that, so he was lucky.
