Help with old adventure games

I mentioned this before, but I'll mention it again. I'm mainly posting this topic because I'm willing to help anyone with problems they may have run into with games(not technical stuff, just hints and stuff). So if anyone is having trouble, just post and I'll do my best to help you, and I'm sorry if I can't. Hope that helps,
-Sean

Okay, I'm playing the Legend of Kyrandia now and I'm at the part where I have to put the gems on the altar in order of seasons. Which gems to I put in the altar and in what order?

Here you are:
Quote:

Now go north a few screens until you see a bird nest with a bird on it.
Click on the yellow stone on your amulet.
Pick up the quill.
Go back to the hut and give the quill to Darm.* In return, he will give
you a magical scroll.* You can try this scroll out if you wish.
Once you have the scroll, Darm will tell you about the birthstones.* The
first birthstone you seek is at the fountain in the river.
Go to the river and click at the bottom of it.* Voila, a SUNSTONE.
During your exploration around this forest, you should have found
quite a few gems and jewels.* (i.e. Onyx, Topaz, Opal)
Anyhow, the other three birthstones you need are in order:
* * * * (SUNSTONE) GARNET, TOPAZ, and RUBY.
To get rubies, grab a few from the ruby tree.* Use the yellow stone on
your amulet after you've gotten your rubies.
Once you have all the right stones and have placed them in order, you
will get a flute.

Have fun further in the game. :D
Btw., sorry to take over your work, xndr2181... :P Next turn is yours. http://forum.giga.de/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Freddy is spot on in everything he's said (He and I are the resident Kyrandia experts :) Just one thing tho, every time you play the game, the order of some of the gemstones change. The sunstone is always first, and the ruby is always last. However, the gemstones in between can be anything.

(Just glad I didn't have to write this in German)

Thanks a ton. I was just dumping stones in there and hoping they were the right ones =P

Well, actually the stones were always in this same order every time I played the game...

Really? That's strange... Do you usually play after a new install? Perhaps the first time around, the order is always the same. I always keep the game on the hard drive and played it many times, and each time the middle two or three gemstones change.

Well, I played the Kyrandia Marathon (Book 1, Hand of Fate, Malcolm's Revenge) only once, so I cannot help about gemstones-besides wendymaree and freefreddy just did that.

I really liked the Kyrandia series, the only flaw is that you die so often...it becomes frustrating after some time.

It's not that often, after all, and even perhaps only in Kyrandia 1 it's more often - in Hand of Fate this happens only on some few locations. If you saved your game, you always can load it again and avoid the death.
Btw., wendymaree - that's it, I always installed it anew from the CD in order to play, so you will be right there. The two middle stones will change in order in every new game, as long the game is kept on the harddrive.
But anyway we're now off topic here, so let's wait for further needs in help instead. http://forum.giga.de/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Yeah death comes seldom in Hand of Fate. I mean you can tickle a crocodile, and even place your hand in its mouth. It's only when you keep doing it over and over again, that you will die.
