It seems I'm from the future.
What is going on?
And don't say spyware because this computer is fresh, installed it two hours ago and this is the only site visited.
Maybe time to turn on the Script Blocker© ?

What about setting the date manually?

Master MC 14-02-2006 07:42 PM

Pretty obvious, but I am more interested in the cause.

Maybe the computer factory has that in there as kinda a joke. A generic date to make sure the comouter works correctly.
Like the guys that put "Dog sh*t" as an ingredient in this ham.

was it that way 2 hours ago (before/after you insatlled)? are you sure?

Master MC 14-02-2006 07:51 PM

Actually it was sort of speak, the computer's been online for two weeks or so but was never used seriously. (Until two hours ago.)
Sorry for being vague.

maybe the battery used to keep the time is dead. (though i doubt it, it's so rarelly used...)

Else a program set it wrong...

So Valentine's Day is on a Wednesday in 8198. I'll have to remember that.

Yo Master MC. I had the same thing day before yesterday. Suddenly I noticed my clock was a 7.34 (when it was 23:15) and when I went to set it right, I saw the year was 7389. Could be that it was some kind of malware, possibly caught from a website, since I was browsing some dubious sites only minutes before which I do only on rare occasions, so the coincidence was striking... When I reset my computer the time was normal again. I always sync my clock using out uni's ntp-server, so that made it extra weird...
