Alright, so ever since getting into abandonware so many years ago, I've tried and have gotten just about every game I used to play as a child, except one. It's very vauge, at least my explanation, but here it does.
The game took place in a haunted type mansion with you the player just having a view of the room. I don't think there was much color, but anyways. The only parts I can remember is the main room, which had a set of stairs and a door to the outside, which I don't think you could go to. Another part was what was up the stairs I believe, there was just a hallway of about 6 doors and maybe a pull down thing to an attic. I'm also remebering a kitchen and a backyard area that may or may not have contained a grave. The main objective of the game was probably to escape this mansion picking up items by clicking on them and such. I know it's very vauge but damn... it bothers me. |
Would it have any link to any Hugo games?
|
Yup, definitely sounds like Hugo 1: Hugo's House of Horror. Got it up for some time now, waiting to be reviewed, together with the other 2 Hugo's. You can get it here.

Never heard of those games ever...form wich year is it coming from??
|
Either that or it is Alone in the Dark 1.
Which you can get here. For screens of Hugo 1, click here. |
what about the 7th guest?
|
Nah, I know Hugo and Alone in the Dark, this game has no avatar, it's just a view of the room.
The 7th Guest game looks a little closer than the Hugo, but the graphics are too nice, i'll talking Hugo or pre-Hugo type graphics here. Well hey, thanks anyways guys. I've been casually looking for about 5 years. |

I'd call it a puzzle, as noted I believe you had to click on things to pick them up and use them somehow. My memory is probably foggy on that though, but it wasn't strategy, FPS or RPG. More of a puzzle i'd think.

I think I might know what game you mean, do you have to collect 12 keys before midnight to leave the mansion?
