I am currently involved in a long-running project called Railway(Rail) 3D. The object is to create a freeware program to allow the user to plan, build and simulate a railway network. It allows custom stock, scenery, track, OHLE (electricication) and signals. The program is fully 3D and avaliable at www.rail3d.net for download. The program is only a few MB. Models are created using a header (defining the paramaters of the object) then using any of a few techniques. Its updated regularly, but we have one problem. We lack people to make new objects! We need your help. If you're interested, why not visit the yahoo group at www.groups.yahoo.com/group/railway3d !

Something like this?

not quite. Its not textures only. and you can build the track etc. within the program in a 3D enviroment.

OMG, i can see this is goin to fail
|
I think it looks quite good, actually. Definitely worth the effort. Chicken, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
|
My sentiments exactly. I think chicken should just shut up about it period. You can say things in a nice way you know chickenboy. :P Don't make me get Peter Griffin in here.
|
looks pretty cool. The train on the left reminds me of thomas the tank engine, xcpet black.
|
is that picture from the game ?
what are you using to make it ? |
I believe its either Delphi or C++
and as for failing, it didnt fail every year since they started in 1999. *returns to work on Black 5 model* and yes, thats a picture from build 94 I believe. 95 managed to solve some bugs... and managed to crap up the shunting.. |
LOL I read your first post and I thought this is going to be some sort of transport tycoon, but the 3d images look very well! I'm going to try it out. :)
