Can't get sound working in settlers using dosbox

Hi, im having trouble getting the sound FX to work in settlers.

I've got the music working.

When I go into the settlers sound setup screen there is an option to choose the sound card and I/O address for the music and seperate option to choose the sound card and I/O address for the sound FX.

The music is working so I wont touch that.

There is a setting to switch the music on or off and there is a setting to switch the sound FX on or off but when I switch the sound FX to on and apply the settings it says "your settings do not fit with the configuration of your soundhardware try starting the setup-program again or changing the sound-board settings manually"

I've tried changing the type of sound card that Dosbox emulates in the conf file a few times but nothing works.

I wondered if anyone could please help me as the sounds are a big part of the game in my opinion :).

  • Memory port/address: 220 (or 330 for MIDI). It's possible to find this number preceded by "0x", as in "0x220".

  • IRQ 7.

  • DMA 1. We may be asked about a second DMA ("high" or "16 bits"), it would be 5.

The setup will only let me choose a sound card for the music. It won't let me choose one for the sound FX keeps saying "your settings do not fit with the configuration of your soundhardware try starting the setup-program again or changing the sound-board settings manually".
