Site Login Issues.
 

Due to a bug there are problems with the site login system.
When you try to log in the site will show you you're not logged in.
Note that the log in DOES work on the forum.

Due to this affecting everyone, the staff can't post it on the main site.
(We can't access the controls :crybaby: )

We all hope the tech people solve this soon.
Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience.

Just kidding, but such a scenario is possible now that PSN was hacked.

Nah. It's more logical to think that the abovo dev's tried to add an improvement that cause a bunch of extra bugs to surface.
Also. I don't think the AB Forum Staff Has access to the segments that allow for the login to get borked up.

:doh: I'm affected by the login issue too, and I don't even HAVE ANY Sony products, let alone a PSN account.

It's more logical that they added an improvement that should have worked, and it did... until it met another piece of undocumented hackery someone inflicted on the core four years ago.

Also for me daily quiz picture not shown at all, so there is nothing worth to login on site. ;)

The Daily Quiz shows itself, but with the yesterday picture.


I remember too on this bug from years ago. It was caused by the actual update, and the solution was to remove that upgrade.

If someone can accidentaly mess things up, someone can also do it in purpose, provided having the access. And there are now a lot of usr/pw's in hands of hacker(s) atm that might give access also to other accounts than PSN.

Well, this not the right forum for complain about Sony's flaws...

Feel free to make a thread in Blahx3 about the recent Sony disaster, Jakobstrom. There are quite a few PS3 users on the boards, and apart from anything else, Sony handled the whole thing poorly, it's worth a bit of a complain :)

Glad to see everything is back to normal :) I thought it was some kind of issue with my account or browser, since I would occasionally get "not logged in" error messages here after opening multiple tabs even before the global login problem.

Likely those times too the bad was on the side of the website.

For three days i can not log in onto the site.
I keep entering my credentials but the fields don't disappear and i can not answer the daily quizz :((
i am using opera and internet explorer
Can someone help ?...i reinstalled the browsers and upgraded them and still doesn't work

I think everybody got the same problem. It's site issue not browser.

Yeah, I thought so, but I gave some information.

Try refreshing and then logging in again, it just worked for me. Otherwise we can contact the webmaster again...

This is more than a minor hickup.

I can log in via vbullet. But the main site isn't recognising my credentials.

The main Site actually doesn't work for me at all.
It does not show any games or news.

Unfortunately, it doesn't really work for anyone right now. In fact Sqij is known for working better than AB. No news from the powers to be yet. Stay tuned if technically possible at all, and someone might have some insight as to what can be done.

I'm not happy that the site isn't working for anyone, :cry: but I am relieved that it isn't just me. XD I even cleared my cache today, which I hate doing, and the results are the same. I couldn't even access the site a couple of days ago. A blue Dragon Warrior/Quest slime logo kept appearing stating the site wasn't accessible. I hope the staff are able to find out what has happened whenever they are able to. Thanks to all who are looking into it. :)

Well, as guessing contest on the main page still works, it means that database is here... somewhere. :) We'll see...

I just emailed Abovo to notify them, they said the database [service] had simply crashed.

After the restoration of the site, I've noticed that the site is logging me out after I've logged in the day before instead of keeping me logged in. I'm able to log in with no problems, so I'm not complaining, I just wanted to mention it, and to see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. Thanks!

Seems to be stable and working now.

Well, actually now it stores cookies for day or so (and the same as before hour expiring cookies for forum). Otherwise, yes, working.

It just started logging me out again; I can just log back in, and it is all right as long as the site is working. I'm not complaining!

same issue for me... entering my login credentials but "Sorry. Unrecognized username or password." :(

thats both thru firefox as well as via my android phones browser... (where i think the tab i had abandonia open still had me logged in... so, whatever the bug is, it makes the site recognize me as logged out after reloading. not sure if this helps any. if not... just... forget what i wrote)

also, obviously, logging into the forum works.

Hi Japo and Spectre,

When I try to log in on the main site, I get the following error message:

“Sorry. Unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password?”

On the other hand, I still can log in on the Forums. But if I close the Forums tab, my log off is done automatically.

And I used several browsers: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, SeaMonkey, on the Tablet, but with the same error message being shown.

I'm having the same issue; able to login at the forum, but not the site. This is two days so far. Thanks, if you're already working on the issue.

No one fixed anything afaik... It appears to have been rebooted or something. A number of strange things happened yesterday.

I think we would better call a detective or investigator, but let him / her be someone from Abandonia. One suggestion would be to call Miss (or is Mrs.???) Lulu_Jane (Marple) to solve the mysterious and inexplicable case yesterday. :lulu: :facts: :spy:

Oh, and she should investigate suspects and which people are above suspicion. Is Abovo above any suspicion? :bleh3: :whistling:

I have just logged in successfully after seeing your posts... Are you still getting errors?

Unfortunately so. I would reform and wikify the site, so every user could publish their own content and updates, requiring only moderation approval from the staff, if anything. Could be a good solution I think. But instead we're unable to do any changes to the website, and have these continuous bugs to take care of.

I believe that the site login problem has already been resolved. However, the Daily Quiz Screenshot has a bug, and although I answered correctly, the site considered my answer incorrect.

I did refresh the page to see if the screenshot could be different, but it did not. Let’s hope this was an isolated case. If not, it would be torture for Quiz Players like me, Bonk and others...

Dear Japo. Unfortunately, I do not bring good news. Again.

The site once again forcibly logged out all accounts and now I can only log in to the Forum. In addition, the site does not recognize the user’s username and password.

It seems that lately this kind of problem has become more constant. And not to mention the server down.

I think it is discrimination. That is the case with sites with many users. Last I checked this site has 800k+ users. That is close to 1 million people. So those who bring bread to the table has to be logged in pronto. In other words ELITE status! For all those who want to know I came from an Ivy League college background. I went for a Semester at Lafayette College school of Engineering. hahahahahahahahaha (sneaks away hoping no one cares) hehehehehehe

Don't worry. Being Ivy League status has a lot of problems with it especially expectations to live up to by others! You can't just be lazy and get away with it knowing everyone's eyes are on you. However to make all the people with log in problems feel better I had a down moment. I was watching one of the Lucasfilm reviews by PixelTHING. And I caught myself thinking the video was bad just because he said it in a certain way. I was a darn idiot. I remember a PixelTHING back in my other site and he was always good to me. I guess I'm to blame. So I kept on adding insults upon insults. I watched another video from Mr. Japo and it had cursing in it. When I do it it is okay but when others do it I judge. So f me. I am an a*&hole. So don't worry I had my moments of despair today. For those of you who do not know what that means its when you feel like it is a hopeless cause. No matter what you do it will not work you think to yourself. I was thinking about a quote from one of the members on this site. It said every day is a chance to start fresh and it really works for me. Thank you for being so inspiring!!!! Anyways for those of you who need to relate to someone who did something good. While going I took out 2 thick Calculus textbooks and got an A for both courses. One other course I took was Computer Information System... specifically programming. I believe it costs $200000 for a 4 year Engineering degree. So I am proud to be an alumni although only short! Today I am able to program using what I have learned. I am able to program Windows 8 and MS DOS!!! So my parents busted their butts to get me in. I owe a cool $1 million dollars to date to my parents combined. I am special#

Then I check back on the site every second to see if it allows login again. Argh.

Lately Abandonia is having very frequent problems beyond what is desired as offline site (due to server down) or site login issues. :(

Let’s hope that Abandonia has better days and times as in its former glory days of the apogee. :OK:

The site login issues have returned, but with a difference. The site accepts your credentials, and the page is redirected to your profile, but not logged in to the site. You are logged in only in Abandonia Forums.

For the last two days, I was trying to post a thank you in the forums for fixing the site login issue, now I can finally post in the forums, but can't log in the site again. I know you are all having a hard time fixing the issues, and I am on your side, and appreciate the hard work (I'm going a little crazy, though). :cry:

The problem is that sometimes the speed of the Abandonia Forums is fluctuating very much ranging from very slow to super fast.

And when that happens, you may have double post when you think error occurred while posting. It’s happened to me a few times.

I am experiencing login issues, and wondered if anyone else is having the same problem. It worked a day or two ago, didn't work before that, and didn't work today. Logging in the forums, then the site sometimes works, but not today. Thanks to anyone working on this!
