I've had this game for a long time and have never had any problems with it (my system specs are quite a bit above its min. specs, but right at GW's min. specs). When I got Guild Wars I had to update my graphics driver so it could run, but I made sure the driver was liscensed and all. Now when I play Morrowind It'll constantly crash and say my display driver is damaged (the same thing that happened with GW before my upgrade). I'm worried I'll have to restore my old driver in order to play this, and that leaves me at a crossroads because I love both games. So does anyone know anyway I could fix this and avoid making this difficult choice?

Your graphic card? Which drivers are you using?

A few suggestions (this is common troubleshooting stuff but it could still help, you never know)...

If you're playing on a laptop, verify your manufacturer's website (Dell, IBM, etc.). These computers tend to come with their own set of drivers and they usually respond poorly (if at all) to those offered by video card makers. It partly explains why laptops aren't great machines for gamers (manufacturers tend to be lazy when it comes to updates). In fact, if you own a laptop, you shouldn't be able to install a driver that wasn't built especially for a mobility-type video card. But, in the big world of computers, everything (as long as we're talking about something unpleasant) is possible so... better safe than sorry.

If you're playing on a desktop computer and own an ATi card from the RADEON family, make sure you run the uninstaller before updating your drivers. It can be found here: http://support.ati.com/ics/support/DLRedir...=737&deptID=894 . This'll ensure that your drivers are freshly installed with no leftovers. If you've updated without uninstalling first, it might be a good idea to run the uninstaller and reinstall the drivers afterward.

You might also want to make sure that your version of DirectX is up-to-date (run windows update).

If you're the owner of an nvidia card, you're on your own until someone here suggests something :) .

if its an nVidia card, tell us which one it is.
In any case, you should go to www.nvidia.com and download the latest drivers (last week they released a new version)

I have a Plug and Play Monitor on Intel® 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller. I do have the latest drivers and version of DirectX, and I am playing on a Desktop. I'm currently downloading a bunch of Windows updates, but they nothing to do with my graphics or drivers, so I don't know.

Does that mean you're using the integrated Intel Extreme Graphics chip on your motherboard? I'm surprised you can run Morrowind with that...

Just to be real sure, could you open the Start menu, click on "Run", type "dxdiag" (without the quotes), press the "Save All Information..." button, save the .txt somewhere, preferably on your desktop (the saving process may require a few seconds), open the file with notepad and copy/paste the information within the
