Looking for a game.
It was a very, very early D&D game. I am positive that it was from D&D, but I am not totaly sure it was even using AD&D rules. I'm not even sure AD&D was out at the time... I was playing it on a 286. Here is what I remember from the game:
You were playing somekind of thief who ran around in some houses in a big city to steal valluables in chests. Everytime you ran into some kind of lock, you would be prompted to a special screen in which you had to move your picking tools in the right timing or else you would lose a tool or it would break, I do not remember right. I also remember a stage involving riding an horse. You needed to avoid some kind of hazard on the way. Graphics were not that bad, but they were really old so quite chunky and the game was probably the size of a floppy, so no more than a few hundred k. |
The only thing I could think of that came anywhere near what you said was this one: Keef the Thief

The graphics on the screenshots on the link you just gave out are at least 1000 times better than what you'd expect from the game I'm looking for.
We're talking about the very biginning of PC gaming here... |
I'll bet you're thinking of Hillsfar... I had that, it was pretty fun, and it was a lot different than the rest of the D&D series that came later... Boy I'm glad you asked because I had forgotten all about that game!

By EoF's earlier reply I think Hillsfar is too new... But it seems very interesting indeed.

THAT'S IT! Thank you so much!
Is it abandonware? :amused: |
Sorry, but you can buy it here as a part of the pack.

Scroll down to yellow download button Also you will need a code wheel, which is here: *MEEP* Sorry for the external links, but I'm pretty sure it's abandonware, just trying to help the guy out... |
Sorry "kobk", I edited your post.
The game is still sold and you can't post links to not-Abandonware games. Please don't do it again. |
Ok, sorry.
