No, you'll just have to suffer.

Because you have a Login name and a Visible Forum name. The shoutbox checks your login name.

But could he change his visible name so that it's the same as his login name? Can someone customize that visible name of his? Can I? :ph34r:

Admin can choose both. if the needs arise.
However don't go asking for a name change. They are rarely granted as they cause confusion

But in Japofran/Tanaka's case, I think it will remove the confusion (or at least make it less apparent).
