"Have I Been Pwned" reporting a 2022 Abandonia data breach
 

I just received an E-Mail from the "Have I Been Pwned" service informing me about this:

I guess it's
a) time to inform all users to change passwords again and
b) for Abandonia to get the administration side up to the task.

There's very little to nothing we can do on our side. It's Abovo who let things get this far and so badly.

We had actually decided to move on away from Abandonia because most of the old staff were tired of seeing Abandonia fall into disrepair and it's only a matter of time before it will be gone since we have no control over the server, no control over the code, no control over the forum, etc.

The new site is called Abandoned Times (named after the magazine we made years ago) but is still in beta - only 15 games or so are up so far.

The hackers had their way with the website. Abovo (the owners) haven't done much more than cleaning up, weeks later. There was nothing we volunteer crew were able to do before or now. I see some things are still not working, not even counting the ones that never worked or stopped working years ago.

Indeed I too see no point in staying involved here.

But yea, change your password.
