Any solution for RPG maker 2000?
 

I am trying to play any of this,
Final Fantasy (endless nova from abandonia, or dark cloud from reloaded)....
it says it needs RPG maker 2000.
Tried to download it from the button of programs at abandonia but it was not possible. i did a search on internet but i can not understand if it is still free and legal to download it or not anymore.
So my request is:
Any solution or explanation (if legal and free where to get it) or maybe another program good and simple that will let me play this wonderful games?

Thank you as allways R.u.s.s...... i already went to that page, and that is why, i was wondering if that version is freeware because it does' not say that.

I have been doing my home work, if someone is interested on this.
it seems that rpg maker 2000 is illegal.

and also clearly says at the end of the frist paragraph,
"RPG Maker 2000 was also one of the RPG Makers to be illegally translated and distributed by a Russian Programmer."

2. but anyway i tried to install it and it is the version of the man Don Miguel (wich is the russian illegal guy). looked for help on the site he posts on the program but, this man is banned from the sites where he offers help or support. (why?)

3. i went to the official site of RPG maker..... it is in japanese....:oh:

4. i went to the official site of RPG maker in english and they only offer the latest version wich is shareware confirmed.

so it seems to me it is illegal but who cares, i have it, and for free :amused:

it is true , that this version does not ask you for registration and does not tell you that you can use it for only 60 days (which is not the case for the latest versions). :amused:


Now the problem is that it asks for a "english Rtp", to run it. i have seen that in some more pages they say that you need this RTP but can not find where to download it.
even in the page M.r R.u.s.s. kindly fetched in the first paragraph of the main page it says at the end that this site will provide it(Welcome to the download page for rpg maker 2000 and rpg maker 2003. Here you will be able to find downloads for rpg maker 2000 and rpg maker 2003 resources, files and RTP.) but i cant find where in that site.

So finally i googed for rpg + rtp and found this two sites

now my question is, are this sites trustful?
would abandonia make a link to them for everybody that wishes to download rpg maker using the abandonia button at the page of programs?

i will wait a little bit before downloading more stuff, until someone with more experience can give me some highlights about all this.
i would appreciate some answer from someone that has this program running , or have played this games using this, or even someone that knows that there is another solution, than just "page fetching of mr R.u.s.s".

Any version of RPG Maker to date after 2000 that you download is essentially illegal because the developers still give support for 2003 and XP.

The 2000 version that used to be offered here was essentially the program minus all the game making tools, which came out to around 11.4 megs or so, thats the version you want if you want to play games like FF: Endless Nova or FF 7: Dark Cloud at AR.

and i think that this doesn't belong to troubleshooting niether

Anyone knows where to find this special version of RPG MAKER 2000 to only play games?

Or could someone tell me a good trusted site where i can download with confidence the full package of RPG MAKER 2000?

why won't you just get the "illegal" version?
