I generally try and rate the games I've played, but I haven't rated a game recently. I haven't gone and given a user rating to the games I've reviewed either (didn't seem much point since I'd given them a score already).

I rate based on gameplay, and compared to my personal gaming preferences.

I would tend to rate games I played only. Ratings I feel are probably only useful to others if they haven't played it before.

I rate the games I played, but only if I remember to do it. I give them mark based on amount of fun I had (re)playing it.
