all right guys you must have heard this a thousand times but i cant get it to run..i clicked on KOEI.com and i get a big black screen for 3 seconds and then back to all the files..do i have to install Dosbox? i got windowsXP on my computer...all right sorry about that i just figured it out..although i dont have any sound? whats up with that?

This is a great game which I had played for a long time but it really lacks AI. Otherwise it could have been much better. You can defeat any enemy in a city just with your horse archers (mongols, nomads, etc.). They don't engage you in close combat as long as yo don't. Just stay out of their range, move one tile, fire your arrows and fall one tile back when you are about to run out of time units. You can repeat this until you run out of ammo but it's no problem. After some turns battle will end and you can start again in the next battle. Anyway historical part is good and 4 is a nice rating for this game.

I think that people would post more comments here if somebody fixed the broken link from the game description/review page.
This is a fantastic game but I really just cannot beat that first campaign to unlock the 4th campaign! Any strategy tips for me? I've looked online and only found SNES game tips, and not very useful at that.
I know I have until 1245 to do it, and I never be too ambitious, as it leaves me unprotected- but the Naimans (orange, from the left side of the board) constantly take over half of the land before I have 3-4 territories... the problem is I never have enough troops to defend my other territories when I attack another province.
I've beaten the game as the Capetians, that was a lot of fun. I'm halfway through a game as the Ghore Sultanate, which is also a lot of fun, though much more challenging!

Best KOEI oldie!

This is one of my first strategy games i've ever played.
I played it in chinese though.
i remember I got this "sure win" strategy that plunders other towns money continously..
I don't remember there's a secret fourth campaign.
This sure brings back a lot of memory.
