3D Realms has closed

Sad day in the dos gaming world.... one of the biggest companies from that era... has closed it's doors. 3Drealms sadly is no more . They made so many great games as Apogee, and of course Duke Nukem as 3d Realms. Sucks another company that brought fun to my childhood is gone :(. Well, guess it will join w/e heaven Westwood Studios and Looking Glass is in.

BTW what does this mean about Apogee abandonware???

Am I missing something here?

The game Duke Nukem Forever won't be completed, but it seems to me that the company 3d Realms still lives.

3D Realms are involved with games other than Duke Nukem. The 3D Realms website seems fine, and their online store is still up and running. You can still buy all their other games from them (Hocus Pocus being my favourite).

I don't see how one game (Duke Nukem) means the end of 3D Realms. :oh:

3D Realms, still plugging away at the slightly delayed Duke Nukem Forever, may have given up the ghost, as the Texas-based developer is rumored to have shut down.

3D Realms webmaster Joe Siegler has, posting on the company's forums, seemingly confirmed the closure, saying "It's not a marketing thing. It's true. I have nothing further to say at this time."

I'm sorry for this, they developed great titles...too bad.

I guess the name "Duke Nukem Forever" is appropriate.
