I need one. See, we have a c***tastic old comp here at work, and I made it a point of honor to make it function - and overclock a bit. I've got it assembled, the thing seems to run. I have the FreeDos installs prepared for the diskette and the CD, so soon it will get an OS. Now the problem is that I need some sort of benchmark/utility tools for it, to monitor it's functions when I'll get on to overclocking and test out all the components for any possible failures (I know that HDD went through a lot of use and abuse).
Boss said "do whatever you want with that thing, make it a frying pan, I don't care". The hardware piece in question is the only working piece of a PC in the locker (I am sort of IT-specialist around, for sake of being the only person around who knows more then just the user-end basics of computer operation), at least considering that one I cannot run at all, one has damaged keyboard socket and for another one there's no ISA GPU around to work. Params? E-ISA operating 486DX4/80.. or was that DX2/80? Not sure. 8 MB RAM, 1 MB GPU. |

It's the old Ziff-Davis PC-Bench for testing DOS PC's back in the day. A google search for the file name should find you a couple of sites with a working download link. |
