Attn:My Dear,

I am MR. Mac Verick an Accountant with Financial Bank
Cotonou, Republic of Benin. A customer of ours MRS.MARY ADJOVI
AMOUSSOU who happens to be the wife of a late politician intimated me
on her intention to invest the sum of US$72M (SEVENTY - FIVE Million
U.S. Dollars)
in a foreign country, being money left for her family
by her late husband who died March 14th 2006 before this new government
that took over on April 6th 2006. I advised her to have patience as I
will source for a reliable and trust-worthy investor who can receive,
manage and invest the money very well on her behalf.

I am soliciting on her behalf for you to help her manage the Fund
properly in your country. You are required to send to me your complete contact details including your personal
Phone number and contact address for more clearification so that I can update you with more informations for your immediate perusal.Looking forward for your urgent response.
send your reply to this more confidential E mail: (mac_veric1@yahoo.com)

Best Regards,

MR Mac Verick [/b]

Answer him and ask him some silly questions, like: Why the hell are you using yahoo?

Or you could deny, like saying: Sorry, but I cant help you. Im not willing to receive any money, because Im a hermit and I live by sucking a moisture from rocks. However, a friend of mine can help you. Here's his email: (The email of that guy who leeches Abandonia).

I remember that people on some forum, actually traced down the guy who sent those phishing mails, I'm not sure if they've beat him up or called the authorities, I do remember tha the bloke was sending those E-mails from a web caffe.

The US Department of Justice, or the US FBI, (I cannot remember which) has instruction on how to forward these emails to them. It involves tagging the subject line with "For information only, No Financial Loss". Searching on "report 419 scams" produces many results. The first link, on Google,"Nigeria - The 419 Coalition Website" gives directions for reporting such scams in many countries.

The only way to stop this kind of fraud is to report it!

419eater.com is a fantastic scam baiter website. It is run by a certain "Shiver Metimbers," who obviously takes great pride in his scam baiting abilities.

Some of his career highlights include -

Convincing 2 nigerian scammers to film and send to him their own version of the famous Monty Python "Dead Parrot Sketch." Yes, you can see the resulting film on youtube, and yes it's actually damn funny.

Convincing 1 scam "artist" to carve him a full scale replica of a Commodore64. The scammer not only made the wooden thing, but actually paid for it to be shipped to England.

It's a really good, solid, site, and although the 419 scam is evil and depressing, the site is very funny.

Shiver Metimbers is a kind of hero of mine :)

Well, that certainly beats the "Hulk Nuclear" thing any day of the week. LOL

Lulu_Jane 21-02-2007 03:23 PM

Hulk Nuclear? .... I am intrigued....

Mr. Shiver Metimbers definitely has enouh passion for what he does to make it worthy of an art form :) I'll have a dig around and find a link for the "Nigerian Dead Parrot Sketch" 'cause it's so very much worth it!
