Lately, when I download games the .zip archives arrive empty. The size while downloading seems fine, though.
Any idea what the problem might be?

Do you have the latest version of the unarchiver/archiver program?

DeathDude 04-04-2005 08:47 PM

Yeah I had a similar problem once, but when I upgraded my winrar, those went away.

Raven 04-04-2005 08:50 PM

I'm using Powerarchiver 9.20.07, which is a quite recent version as far as I'm aware of. I used to use WinZip and WinRar but those gave me the same problems. I figured it was because they were expired trial versions. (Even though they have been expired for months with only a message at startup and no problems to show for it)

A possible cause of the problem might be some anti-leeching protection of Abandonia, because I don't click on advertisements on download pages?
I would click them, if I could. For some reason the ads rarely appear.

Don't think it's that with the anti leeching, winrar is nice because when the trial expires, you can still continue to use it after the evaluation period is over.

Do you save them or try ty open them directly? I've had this problem when I tried to directly open files. Try to save them to your disk and then opening!

Not just here - always do that, you might need them later and a temp folder is NOT fun to search through, unless you're a masochist.

Hey, a man's gotta have a hobby ;)

Anyway, it's probably the opening-directly bit.
That presents the next problem:
I can't save the files. When I click the "Get it" button it gets opened directly and denies me the choice of saving it to disk. There must be some option I can not find thanks to my technical ineptitude...

Which browser are you using?

Raven 04-04-2005 09:26 PM

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0
