i've downloaded jagged alliance for a few days, english version. I tried to install it but after a few seconds pops up a error message: "can't open file qickstrt.sav"

i have no idea what's going on.. maybe u can help me?

today i've downloaded jagged alliance from a other site, again a *dirty word* problem. In the setup pops up a message: "please insert disk #1 and press any key"

but i havent got any cd cause i downloaded it..

That's strange. I think "qickstrt.sav" means quickstart.save, so you should search the JA directory and see if you've got the file. If you've got it make sure that it isn't read-only. Right-click on the file=>properties and somewhere down you should see if the box left to "read-only" is ticked; if yes remove it by clicking on that boxz again. If not, I haven't got an idea.

i have only a file called "QUICK.SAV" i think that's it, but i don't got any option like "read-only" or something

What do you mean that "i don't got any option like "read-only" or something" ? You didn't saw one in properties ?

BenzAMG 23-08-2005 03:48 PM

jep, i don't saw anything like this

Just wait a minute until I make a screenshot, ok ?

BenzAMG 23-08-2005 03:55 PM

okay, but another question: do u know this game? if yes, u played it ?

Abi79 23-08-2005 03:59 PM

I know and played this game. I also played JA Unfinished Business and JA2. :D

BenzAMG 23-08-2005 04:04 PM

okay, i think u played the english version?

is it normal that u can't save until a fight, or in a unsecure sector?

Abi79 23-08-2005 04:06 PM

Well I remember that you can save in a fight. Why ?

(And yes, I played the english version)

The second screenshot should come soon, but first what kind of Windows have you got ?
