Suggest Special Newspost to Celebrate Brown v. EMA Victory

I'm surprised this hasn't been suggested already, but Abandonia should post a special newspost on the Abandonia homepage regarding the recent Electronic Merchants Association victory in the United States Supreme Court case of Brown vs. Electronic Merchants Association. (You should really read the article - it sums up everything much more concisely than I can.) I know it doesn't relate to abandonware, but since it relates to the video game industry at large in the US, I think it might be worth consideration.

Aye! I can do it tonight if other staffers are in favor. Tomorrow I'll be busier.

Stupid Americans. For some reason we just have to have something to be angry about because we just can't accept NEW MEDIUMS and stuff. It's like christianity was with dungeons and dragons.
But yay for our victory :)

NEW LAW

Friendly neighbourhood admin advice: This will be a very short thread if it turns into a pointless North American bashing thread. It's too easy and you can do that anywhere else on the internet :)

The extremist Christian Right will not satisfied until the World is populated with God fearing, Bible clutching zombies, devoid of freewill (that God given..er...mistake, I suppose - there's a thing!), conforming utterly with their suits, neckties, neat, short haircuts and wouldn't-say-boo-to-a-goose obedience. It's enough to make me want to turn Satanist! But that's still a Christian sect so I'll stick with a rational, sensible, undogmatic Paganism, thank you very much!

LOL, if you cared to check on the allegiance of the politicians and judges involved...

Oskatat 29-06-2011 07:52 PM

thats a bold claim. that some politicians are less religious. Are you saying that either the republicans or democrats are not really religious? Or are you saying that both are too religious?

and next... Oh my (not oh my god, just so you know)! Are you suggesting that any judge would be influenced by anything but the law. Isnt religion and most politics supposed to be seperate of the system that handles the day to day legal issues? Most democracies handle a system that seperates enforcement, judgemental and legislative powers as well as promote a segregation between church and state

is some well known country that tries to proclaim itself the paragon of all these examples lacking in some way? no, it cant be

sorry for being overly sarcastic

anyway, i agree.
What your children watch on tv, the games they play... those are the responsibility of the parents....

what about the duality of denying the government the right to influence many issues while still blaming the government when any of those issues are turned wrong?
