Hello there abandonian fellows.
This is the first time i open a tópic and i hope i' m doing it at the right place. I' ve been trying to take some screenshots of a "windows 95 based" game that runs in 256 color mode. i' ve been using PSP 9 but all the images i get are presented in strange colors. What i ask you is this: does anyone knows a program similar to PSP that can capture displayed images? I thank you in advance, oh wise ppl :kosta: for iluminating my restless mind :D |
The GIMP does that without a problem. It also does a LOT of other stuff. It's like a freeware Photoshop.

IrfanView is my favourite - great for game screenies.

thank you guys, that was quick :ok:
unfortunately it didn' t solved my problem because i get the same result as with PSP.... i' ll attach one screenshot for you to see what is happening. the colors aren' t right, and i can' t make any improvements no matters what i do. http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/652...18090993jb.png |

It's Baldies. I think it was a DOS game, hence the palette incompatibility. Tried running it through DOSBox?

Try SnagIT! See Here:- http://www.techsmith.com/products/snagit/default.asp
Although it may or may not work for you. But it should work! Or Try Similar programs here:- http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Gr...re/SnagIt.shtml Hope it helps! :ok: |
yes, this one is Baldies... it was a Dos game, but i only have a Windows version so it won' t run under DOSBox (unfortunately). I read somewhere that there are about 24 versions of this game but i couldn' t find any DOS version anywhere. I'm supposed to write a review for this game, but so far i have two problems with the same one cause:
1st - since this is a site dedicated mostly to DOS games i don' t know if Kosta will want to place it here (i' ll have to discuss that with him :Titan: ). 2nd - this damn screeshot thing is killing my nerves (maybe i should have posted this in the "post your crap here" topic :D ) Gimp and Irfanview gave me the same results as PSP... i' ll try SnagIT when i get home; i also remebered one trick i' ll try to use  ... i' ll keep you informed. anyway, thanks for the tips  |
Maybe... Virtual PC?
