To this day, I ocassionally spammed, flamed and trolled this blah blah forum. Why? Because I wanted to know what is it like to troll, and because I wanted to teach you something.

Trolls are everywhere and they don't even miss this forum. Their methods range from primitive to super complex.

Trolling, who are trolls? Trolls are people which ruin the forum, for fun or because they hate you and whole goddamn world. They do it for the kicks, they do not necessarily hate you, they just like bullying people. How?

In various ways, from "baiting" (making posts seemingly harmless but angering people so much that they generate flame) to simply annoying them by very bad grammar, or just hijacking threads or posting empty posts.

Remember, trolls do it to annoying, to see your hate and anger to see your blood boil, to see you go crazy and do something stupid. They can pretend if it fits them and they can use multiple accounts, they have no God or political view, they just follow their goal and use any means at their disposal.

What can you do?

First of all, don't feed them. When you see something that makes your blood boil or something idiotic, don't comment, stand away from computer and calm down, make yourself coffee or something. Have a smoke, and then let it pass. I tested it on the guy who is on "hot streak" and he did well, but he could do better. If he would respond to my posts coldly or not at all, I would go annoy someone else, if forum would not react, I would move elsewhere. Trolls are like nomads, one day they have to move since they drained all hate and anger from forum. Only that can help, no banning as they use proxies.

Secondly, inform admins. Do not let threads go out of control, mods can't keep up with everything and sometimes they can be naive, be vigilant citizen of forum and report the wrongnesses.

Thirdly, do not attempt to change trolls into productive members, they may do it by themselfs like me, but you yourself they can never change them.

Trolling is great problem but you can rarely prove someone is troll if he's good, good trolls simply act like little bit dumb but adorable members of forum posting stupid empty posts irritating people who look for serious discussions, or derailing threads by switching original topic. Or they can look like good members and scale up step by step their posts.

And so on.

Yes I tend to be too much serious about it bitching about it all day, but I hate them.

I know at my site we take trolling pretty serious. Any spamming, flooding, off-topicness is means of warns if it continues. And yes, for major trolls, it is always a good idea to go to admins first. They control everyone's accounts. ;)

I've never heard of Dream pissing anyone off, except the whole Yamcha thing.
