No kidding?

Personally I hate strategy games, but the KOEI games are just amazing ^_^

The only sound effects for this game is from the PC speaker..
There's no music..

The game might seem hard, due to the odds stacked against you in the begining..

Tip :

though you might wan to hold for a someone with better stats, my advise is to get a sworn brother as soon as someone with half decent stats come along..

You could control a prefecture /battle when a sworn brother is present..
this extra ability to micromanage pays off in the long run..

dun fret about the wastage of the status on a average/crappy guy, Even on the highest difficulty level you can have 5 sworn brothers/sister , and 10!! on the easiest setting

Trick :

move a 600-800 men army headed by a sworn bother/sister into a undevloped prefecture ajacent to Gao Qiu's , with less 1/3 month's worth of food in battle..

Gao Jiu will surely threaten to attack, ignored the threat, .
of course he'll attack , with a full 1000 men .and food that'll last for 1 month in battle..

dun engage.. try to exhaust as much of your own food as possible and dragged the battle for as long as possible to exhaust their's .. then retreat you army...

Next turn , they have a Huge army with little food in a piss poor prefecture..,
if you did a good job, the army will starved to death in the following months..

as a bonus, you can also now attack the much weaken ( minus 1000 defenders) position..

a note about loyalty...

Loyalty will drop gradually every month (hardly noticable if the commander has very high intergrity )with a BIG drop in January every year..

therefore,it's not a good idea to recruit heroes in December

The Rate at which Loyalty drops depend on the Commander's (sworn brother, your hero) Integrity stat..

However..
The "FEAST" command (raise loyalty and body) works better (raise more Loyaty) with commander who has LOW integrity..

work it out yourself how take advantage of this..

the safe level for loyaty is 40 , there's no need to raise loyaty to 100, so save the money for something else..

Provided the sworn brother/sister you get has a stronger value than you in one of your weaker stats. Because then, you'll be able to use them to acquire bandits strong in that stat, who otherwise wouldn't deal with you personally.

But if you like the game play then you must try the CDROM version of Celtic Tales: Balor of the Evil Eye. Superb voice acting with digtal music and sound-effects in isometric view.

Just wondering, but i have the original cartridge for the NES and i'm wondering if it is possible to make a back up of it. Know anything?

Also, i'm looking at this game, and I cna't get it to run, I will probably be able to get it working, but just in case, do i need an emulator or something?
