No more access restrictions on ISO Cellar

After discussing this a bit, we decided to make the ISO Cellar forum accessible to all registered users with no restrictions.
Every registered user can access the contents now, so go ahead and do your best to knock out your bandwidth!

dosraider 30-06-2009 09:46 AM

An intelligent decision.
:)

Lulu_Jane 30-06-2009 10:36 AM

This is great! Will it be announced on the front page?

Already is.

Lulu_Jane 30-06-2009 10:54 AM

Ah, I refreshed the page and see it now, awesome :)

Dave 30-06-2009 11:16 AM

We should have done this before...but we had other problems in mind :)
Don't forget that ISO Cellar is supported by users, without your help and support it won't last forever ;)

Constantine_R 30-06-2009 11:29 AM

I've never writen in the forum before although I'm a fun of the site in years...
But in this occasion I must say... "THERSE ARE THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!""

ianphillips2347 30-06-2009 02:39 PM

Creideiki 30-06-2009 02:45 PM

Click this link to find out. :)

_r.u.s.s. 30-06-2009 05:01 PM

Yay!

btw now we could link to the forum topic with the relevant iso from the game review page by default, or no?

El Quia 30-06-2009 05:43 PM

Or maybe post reviews of ISO games?

_r.u.s.s. 30-06-2009 05:55 PM

some users already did that! you're encouraged to make a review if you enjoy the game and share your opinion with others

and if you really like the game make screenshots as well=P

El Quia 30-06-2009 06:02 PM

But I meant to post review amongst the "normal" reviews from the site

callmechia 30-06-2009 11:42 PM

Yay!! I agree with constantine here when I say, this is the best news ever! Thanks admins! :lust:

Mystvan 30-06-2009 11:48 PM

Thank you very much, dear admins!

lamparita 01-07-2009 12:25 AM

HIUPIIII, fantastic news, great, thanks so much! ;)

Boromir 01-07-2009 06:41 AM

Wow!

Thanks boy! A very pleasant gift!

El Quia 01-07-2009 01:27 PM

Hmmm, lots of newcomers posting here :mhh:

red_avatar 02-07-2009 04:24 AM

We'll need a "game in ISO cellar" icon for those reviews and a disclaimer that only registered members can visit our ISO cellar. This would avoid bots crawling the forums for the links because they have no other protection.

barbarian 02-07-2009 06:22 AM

wow, that is GREAT news!!!

haha i needed just one more post to get to the cellar level, and that;s this post :)

Aramir 02-07-2009 06:36 PM

Humbly thanks to you!

This is like second birthday…

I_Wanna_Be_A_Pirate 02-07-2009 11:53 PM

NO idea if this question has been asked before. But with 4shared I cant seem to find a way to download multiple selected files, as opposed to one single file at a time. Is this normal? And also I'm back after a 4 year hiatus.

skillz 03-07-2009 12:30 AM

Yup very good idea opening it up
And the idea of users that upload the games..is what i really like
I'm curious if the traffic to the site has gone up since opening the iso cellar up?

rabadi 03-07-2009 12:52 AM

Since ISO Cellar is already opened for public, is there any chance that the VIP section of the olden days will follow suit? :sneaky:

zebaroth 03-07-2009 12:59 AM

This is Good i as i love this website and old games think you for opening
the iso Cellar:laugh:

4shared is a more friendly Rapidshare but you still need a Premium account to download more than one file at once. I've downloaded tons off 4shared before I bought a Premium account myself - then you get top speeds and you can easily download 6-7 files at once. It's up to you whether you want to pay for it or not, though.

The VIP section may get reworked - it has been dead for nearly two years now - since the move to the new site really - so there's nothing really there any more.

I really wish someone would start using torrents instead of these 10 part RAR files. With some of these file hosts downloading a full game can become quite irritating, unless I'm willing to shell out a subscription fee.

I could always put up a torrent of the games i upload
I have no idea if this is sonething that abandonia is even intrested in something like torrenting the games
But i'm ok with it
Kinda up to them

The Fifth Horseman 03-07-2009 01:19 PM

We are, but we cannnot allow ourselves association with currently existing trackers - most of them carry warez in some form or another.

Once the current issues with the site are resolved and we move to improvements, setting up our own tracker is one of the things that will be looked into.

Chris 03-07-2009 03:42 PM

And in the meantime you could use this nice litte JDownloader tool to make most filehosters a bit more comfortable.

Ermuli 03-07-2009 04:36 PM

Just use jDownloader with 4shared. Eases the download process a lot.

Edit: O-ou...I had a wrong page open when posting this.

Krisgebis 04-08-2009 11:52 AM

Nice decision. Now I don't have to spam messages to gain access :-)
Well, this forum seems like a nice place for a chat, so I might use it more often anyways.

jazzmann30 11-05-2011 02:43 AM

I have a B.A.T 2, still have not made it into an ISO file. Wanted to share it, but don't know...any help?

The Fifth Horseman 11-05-2011 05:31 AM

But you didn't say what you don't know, so I don't know what you need explained.

Sorry. I was asking for help on how I can make my cd into an ISO file.

The Fifth Horseman 12-05-2011 06:53 AM

Most of the burning programs have the option to create image files. Try using Alcohol52% or CloneCD.

Unable to Access Most Files ISO Cellar

I can't seem to access the majority of the folder contents in the ISO cellar. I can see items in the N folder, but if I look at most others, like the S folder, they appear empty, even though on the list of all folder, it clearly says there are numerous posts/items inside.

Anyone know what might be happening?

Thank you.

arete 29-06-2011 07:06 PM

It seems to be a bug that's popping up lately with new users. Maybe some sort of new-account fix is needed? :mhh:

Dave 30-06-2011 11:30 AM

You registered yesterday so it's possible that your permissions aren't updated yet, try the vbulletin direct link to visit ISO Cellar:

http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/forumdisplay.php?f=43

And you can try to clear your cache, Firefox (if you are using it) is giving some problems lately, it shows old pages.

Try and see if it works now. I've ran a fixing script.

I can't access the cellar either. Any fix for that? Oh, and this is my first post by the way. I never had anything to say until now.

UPDATE

Nevermind, I've got it working now.
