I have something nice & rare to offer. :smile2:
TITLE: Future Boy COMPANY: The General Coffee Company GENRE: Graphic Text Adventure YEAR: 2004 SIZE: 160 MB MOBY GAMES ENTRY: http://www.mobygames.com/game/future-boy Haven't seen this for download anywhere else, so it would be a huge 'PLUS' if AB offered it. :OK: The Hugo engine (similar to SCUMM) is needed, but it's on the game disc, so I can supply it. Their website is pretty much dead. Can't buy the game, can't download the demo, can't access their forums, can't watch the trailer. http://www.generalcoffee.com/futureboy/about.html So does AB want game & review? :mhh: |
Looks more for Reloaded... but if you want to have it here instead why not.
However the website with patch download counts in principle as (weak) support: http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=12655 You can post in Requests to get a second opinion. We could always contact the owner to ask for permission. |
It's not freeware, so it can't go on Reloaded. Don't know why you think it's freeware.
But if you don't want it, it's fine. Just thought AB would like something rare. The patch on that site isn't much good, since they don't sell the game itself. It's an offer, not a request, hence posting in the Offers thread. |
Hm, while the official patches do count as a kind of support, the fact that the game is unavailable to buy from seemingly the only place where it was possible to purchase it also implies that the developers don't really intend to bring it back.
Frodo, have you considered writing an email to Kent Tessman, the author of Future Boy, and asking him what's the status on the game? |
If the game was sold at any point, and judging by the "buy the game" link on their website it was sold, then game is for AB, not Reloaded.
I suppose writing an email is the safest option. You can still provide game&review for preservation and to give the game a justice. Providing download to the game can be changed as status of the game changes. |
Frodo sorry for misunderstanding/missing the point that it was never freeware/eligible for AR. It would be good to have here in any case if possible. But every offer needs to be based on an approved request... Update workflow is request, offer, submission, grammar, publishing.
|
It doesn't need to be approved request IMHO. That only influences will the game be available for download - and I agree it can be very demotivational to prepare material and game is not for download.
But it would be preserved, that's one thing. And if Frodo wants to write review and provide screenshots, we can still create review page. |
