I'd like to recommend the great remake of the legendary International Karate + available at http://www.poke53280.de/ (go to downloads, International 64k-Rate).

Is the abandonia remake site still getting made?

A nice computer adaption of the Hero Quest board game. I especially like the editor, although I'd wish it had more options. http://home-1.tiscali.nl/~lbroers/download.htm

Ur-Quan Masters (Remake of Star Control 2)
http://sc2.sourceforge.net/

This isn't a game. It's a remake that's been in-process for several years. The only things available for download are remixes of songs from the original game. Things have been very quiet over the last year, and I wouldn't expect anything for at least two more years.
