If ANYONE can make a working rip of the game that doesn't require the CD at all, speak up please! Then I can write a review and make screenshots and submit the game to be put on the main site! I'll still credit whoever makes the rip though...

Haha! Nice file name. XD

Heh I know. I do that so they don't get taken down so quickly...

Yup, creativity to make those oldies live even more!
About the rip, I'll test the rip I got with this ISO, I'll tell what I got after testing (BTW, rip is about 13MB)
EDIT: Don't know if it's on mine but, when playing with .jar version of DOSBox, try switching its configurations to "fullscreen=true". I'll finish testing on my home to see if this "stretching" issue happens there too.

I'll put some things here now: (firstly sorry for double post)
Recommended use of DOSBox (even on older PCs), it's easier for the "mount" trick:
Notes to run:
On DOSBox, type the following before playing the game:
mount c <directory>\XMENCOTA
mount d <directory>\XMENCOTA -t cdrom (if you don't type this, forget it.)
c:
xmen
It will begin to configure the UniVBE driver, just confirm the prompt and wait to play! :OK:
About that review... if you feel without time to write it, leave it to me, I'll reference you in it. Now I'm downloading the ISO, I want to see the differences between those files...
EDIT: Downloaded and checked. Unfortunately this rip is for the 8-bit version, not the 16-bit one... But it works.

Wow! I really appreciate the time and effort you're putting into this, patryck!

I already wrote a review for the game, but deleted it when I wasn't able to find a ripped version. I really don't feel like writing it all over again, so if you wanna write a new review, be my guest ;) .

You deleted it??? :dislike: Ahhh, bad thinking... we can always host the game without direct download, but with links to ISO Cellar. I thought it was public knowledge or something... :mhh:

But link goes into Extras section right?
BTW I got the review ready, it's not big, so there'll be 6 screenshots with it. I'm upping shortly to FTP, in around half an hour (Am I using the 'an' right?) it's there.
EDIT: Done!

The links posted no longer work unfortunately :( Does anyone still have access to this old classic?

Smiling Spectre 27-07-2020 02:06 PM

Absolutely. No (or almost no) commercial DOS game ever was lost. ;)

Try Adventure Legends, for example.
