Finally at long last I tried to play a carefully preserved copy
of Lands of Lore I on my main game machine for older games, a Pentium II with 64 RAM, 5 GB HDrive, Sound Blaster snd Card and it has played many of the older games successfully. OS is Windows 98 SE. I got the initial movie fine with the sound and everything, up to where you pick the character you want to be, and once I pick no matter which one, i get a black screen and no sound or any action out of the game after that and have to re boot? Any suggestions? I ran set up and selected SB for all the audio stuff, tried starting in both DOS and Win, still no go. Is my system too fast? I dont think I can use DOS Box in Win 98 SE but not sure. Sound not an issue as far as I know. I found one post about LOL III saying a black screen meant resolution was not set correctly maybe this is it too. not sure yet, thoguh i would check here for any ideas first. Thanks :bye: :bye: :bye: :bye: |

yes.

Did you use DOSBox? That's what I wanted to recommend to Christian (if only to gather more knowledge about the issue).

Can we put the patch to our site or give to people the edited .exe in the archive?
