Finally at long last I tried to play a carefully preserved copy
of Lands of Lore I on my main game machine for older games,
a Pentium II with 64 RAM, 5 GB HDrive, Sound Blaster snd Card
and it has played many of the older games successfully. OS is
Windows 98 SE.

I got the initial movie fine with the sound and everything, up
to where you pick the character you want to be, and once I pick
no matter which one, i get a black screen and no sound or
any action out of the game after that and have to re boot?

Any suggestions? I ran set up and selected SB for all the audio
stuff, tried starting in both DOS and Win, still no go. Is my
system too fast? I dont think I can use DOS Box in Win 98 SE but
not sure. Sound not an issue as far as I know. I found one
post about LOL III saying a black screen meant resolution was
not set correctly maybe this is it too. not sure yet, thoguh i would
check here for any ideas first.

Thanks :bye: :bye: :bye: :bye:

Did you use DOSBox? That's what I wanted to recommend to Christian (if only to gather more knowledge about the issue).
