I loved sword of the samurai, it was one of the greatest abandonware games I have ever played (second only to the dune series), anyway. I wish to make a remake of Sword Of The Samurai, it will probably years before completion, this is because I want to make it to have more freedom in it then any other game. EVER! I already have all the stuff I need, The proggramming language, the graphics, everything. Now I only need two things before my dream can begin to become to fruition.
1) Gameplay Ideas
2) Music

Any help with Ideas would be much appreciated. Also, if someone could supply me with some asiatic music, the game can finally be completed!!!!
Thanx!

A remake means the gameplay's the same or improved, just like the game itself. That would solve the gameplay matter, unless you're more thinking of making a tribute to Sword of the Samurai, or a game based upon it. Another suggestion is to check up on the historical correctness of the new things you're implementing, as in SotS, everything's historically correct. That's part of its charm. To keep that, the additions'd need to be correct too.

The Idea for the tactical battle screen: try to make it like in Shogun..
and for the other battle screen(the one that you have when cleaning the vilage from bandits and etc.): try to make it like in GTA2...
that's all from me, more ideas will come, maybe...

Not necessarily correct tiki, as a diamo would never dishonor himself by commiting espionage or assasination, that is what he would hire an assasin for. This was the role of the ninja, as they did not abide by bushido. This is one problem I would like to see fixed in an update.
