Well I can't remember this one I think its a late 80's early 90's one. You were int control of a starship and you went out a collected resources from planets and met aliens. You could upgrade your ship parts and make enemies and alliances. On of the races names was the sysibo or something like that. Thought it was Star control one or two but it doesn't look like it. I remember after a battle you could view your engine room and some parts would be shorted out and you could remove or replace them....any name that game players available?

Im not too good with old games but if you can't find it id adivse you try the escape velocity series. I think them games are shareware but they were fully playable when i tested them (No time limits etc)

Sorry i couldnt be of more help.

Maybe Conquest. I have this on CD but never played it. I know it has something to do with spaceships and planets, but other than that I know nothing. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Maybe Star Control?

This sounds like the game Im looking for. Did you select your crew and you could pick different races each with pros and cons? Did you perform a scan of the planet before you landed to see if it was rich in minerals or lifeforms etc? You had some kind of material for fuel and you could warp or just cruise and the better your engines, the less fuel you would burn?

sounds like ascendancy. which is on the site.

Admittedly similar, but this isnt the game Im looking for.
