I was wondering how Blood Omen would fare on XP when I downloaded it, turns out it is compatible with Xp. XP home at least.

It is??
Some guy PM me, because his full version of BO was NOT working on XP It was XP PRO SP1. So i told him to install 98 SE besides XP, and the game should work. |
i think it can vary depending on your graphics card and which drivers.

Yes I seem to be having various graphics problems with blood omen (the usual game completely locks after the bar tenders first line so not even ALT-TAB etc works problems mentioned on several threads). I suspect it's due to the game no liking the fairly new graphics card)... It's kind of a catch 22 in that the patch Blood Omen would solve this problem, but the game then asks for a cd, and the cracked version won't run... (If anyone has any ideas that i'm missing i'd be very grateful)
If not I'll just have to wait until I get back home and drag out the old PC still runnig win98... |
same for me - i start it and after the bartender's line, i cant do anything... waited some time, still couldnt do anything, it did only respond to ctrl+alt+del...
and if i chose anything else besides "new game" it crashes to desktop... maybe it requires outdated versions of dx? where can i get those? |
If you own a single core CPU, you're in luck. All you need is a cpu killer, which adds additional load to the CPU, fire it up and set it to 50% or so. That should fix the synch problem with the bartenders line, which causes the game to lock up.
http://www.cpukiller.com/ Dunno if it works with multi-core ones as well. |
you can disable one of your cpus for a specific application inside task manager
