<<< Belgium Arete, Belgium.

We don't eat frogs in Belgium, and no snails either.

We do eat a lot of frieten, hutsepot and stamppot, drink ridiculous amounts of beer, but we don't eat frogs.

However, I kinda like to shoot them #@#@#@#@bastards with an air gun, or a .22 when visiting some family of mine (farmers).
(My grandfather's two 'long barrel' .44 US army revolvers are sooooo noisy, damn shame.)

I am reminded of the great (fictional) Belgian Detective Hercule Poirot - he was always being mistaken for French, much to his obvious annoyance.

Now that was a man with a mustche. Mon dieu!

Fun fact 1: Belgium is the only other country except for Italy which uses a dot as a time separator. All other languages use a colon.

Fun fact 2: I discovered this because the stupid dot caused a fatal error in an app I was testing. HIGH FIVE BELGIUM, YOU MADE MY AFTERNOON LONG AND PAINFUL!

Fun fact 3:

This is Paul. He is a Belgian.

THIS THREAD IS NOW FOR CELEBRATING AND POSTING ALL THINGS BELGIAN. GO GO GO!

We use a colon, the dot as time seperator is archaic.
I'm afraid your 'fact' isn't a fact. :bleh1:

And as for the dot, my clients are archaic so it suits them to use it :)

Mighty Midget 23-05-2011 08:35 PM

It's also the homeland of a pretty interesting artist!
