Tried to play this game a couple of times in the past, could not really get past the graphics :tomato: Yeah, I know gameplay is much more important than graphics. So yes, maybe I'll try again someday. The full version is on the ISO Cellar, if I remember correctly.

EDIT: Ah yes, here it is: http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=17453

I'm not lazy and here is The Link but it seems that it is not working any more

Turned out I, too, am not so lazy :) Sorry I edited my post at the same time. Perhaps Ermuli can be contacted to reupload?

I was excited to see this game again, downloaded it and got it running under dosbox.

Thing is, it won't save! I've tried moving directories, tried using the games own installer, but in the save screen it says it cannot save the file. I'm obviously missing something. Any thoughts?

Screenshot or full error message?

It says 'Game could not be saved'.

Basically, I select a slot, type a comment then hit escape as per instructions, select yes, and at that point it fails to save.

I have the game placed into a c:\shadow\ directory, and have mounted dosbox to c:\ as well as c:\shadow\. Just can't figure out what criteria the game is looking for to complete a successful save.

I have a feeling I'm missing something obvious, at least I hope that's it.

I started playing it recently via DOSBox. Pretty fun game. Got my 3rd metaform yesterday and now I am cleaning some Castle out of Werewolves :rocks: The leveling system SUCKS ASS though - you gain XP for the metaform that actually killed the enemy so you can fuck yourself up if overleveling one weak form and underleveling all others. So far I gained 95% XP in the human form, don't know if that was such a good idea, hmm. I rarerly use the Maorin, he is so weak now compared to human.

Extract the attached ZIP to your game directory, and try to load the savegame. If you can load but still not save (in an empty slot), you should right-click on the directory and check if Read-only is marked in the properties.

Attachment removed because of uselessness.

Thanks for responding Luchsen. It doesn't seem the zip file was successfully attached to that post. I did go check the compatability and read/write status of the various .exe files, they weren't read only. I have also run the game under vdmsound with the same result.

So everyone else can just unzip, extract, and they're good to go? If so, I can't imagine what my deal is. I'm using Windows XP, and dosbox 0.72

I also tried using my other laptop, which uses Vista, with the same result.

I'll keep working on it, hopefully I'll figure it out and can post it here.
