Todbog's Collection

I have a few games that I saw were not readily available on the site so I thought I would try and contribute in some small way.

The first is a compilation of games by the title of The Definitive Wargame Collection. http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/de...ame-collection

It contains the following twelve games.

Battles of Napoleon [Uploaded]
Conquest of Japan [Uploaded]
D-Day: The Beginning of the End (Already on the site)
Decisive Battles of the Civil War [Uploaded W/Review]
Global Domination [Uploaded W/Review]
Gold of the Americas (Already on the site)
Battlefront: Panzer Battles [Uploaded]
Reach for the Stars
Sword of Aragon
Wargames Construction Set II: Tanks!
Warlords (Already on the site) [Manual Uploaded]
When Two Worlds War

The reason I am mentioning the titles that are already on the site is due to the collection itself. The collection clocks in at 12.9 mb compressed, which offers a launcher and manuals for all the games above. The manuals are in Xview format by the way.

The second title I am offering is pretty rare.

Red Ghost Empire Interactive 1995 [33.6mb] [Uploaded]http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/red-ghost

This one is an iso as it requires the disc to play. Both have been tested to work under Dosbox as well.

Red Ghost [APPROVED] No valid buylinks found (only one copy at yestergames.com which is fishy, and some at Amazon Marketplace, which doesn't count) It's also interesting that Empire Interactive has just closed, I think in May, this year.

Unfortunately we can't accept the collection. It's impossible to write a review for so many games. We could have made an exception, probably, if they were from the same series. It would have been great if the games were available separately.

Do you have FTP access to upload Red Ghost?

dosraider 22-06-2009 12:22 PM

Shouldn't be that hard to get them games to run from separate archives .... as it's a dos compil.

Luchsen 22-06-2009 12:45 PM

Like dosraider said, but we can also make an entry for the compilation and (when existing) add the reviews of the single games to the connected games.

Todbog, do you have something with the compilation logo that you are able to scan in (but not in circle like on the CD)? Or is the logo perhaps in the game launcher? I would be nice to have it for the series/compilations labelling. :)

Ehhh...aren't these perfect for ISO Cellar?

I was gonna say the samething

The launcher has a splash screen so that would be perfect for the compilation. Each game is set in a separate directory, so splitting them up would not be a problem at all. The only stumbling block would be the manuals as I am not sure how to convert the Xview files to txt or Word. Any recommendations would be welcome here.

Oh, and if you could PM me the details for uploading I would appreciate it.

Luchsen 22-06-2009 02:37 PM

PM sent. :PM:

Thanks for the PM. I accidentally started sending the unpacked iso for Red Ghost so I stopped it and sent the packed version instead. You just need to delete the iso fragment. Otherwise I send the iso and about 8 screenshots.

As for the compilation, I believe only Battles of Napolean needed a manual so I could easily upload the rest seperately. I just want to check that each game is not protected before proceeding that route.
