I belive this german Snake clone was called "der wurm," but don't quote me on that... You played as a red worm composed of spheres. To gain length, you ate apples... then once you ate enough, a door opened in the wall, and you had to enter it to get to the next level. Some obstacles were:
Walls Moving spikey things Lava pits Stuff like that. Oh yeah, and when the worm ate an apple, it'd say "Woot Woot" in a high-pitched voice. |
Der Gefrässige Wurm? Or it might be Das Snake-Spiel.
|
No, it's neither of those...
The company also made a few other games, one was a space shooter, another was an isometric view puzzle game starring this fuzzy brown thing. I'm pretty sure this game was called "Knuddle's Quest..." |
I remember I played that game - especially the w00t w00t sounds, but I can't remember the name :(
I think I played it on my Win 3.11, though |
Hmm... This is interesting.
I -think- I found the company, it's the company that made Knuddel's Quest and another game I played called Crash, called Schenk and Horn. But here's what's on their page... " Currently we are not offering our games. A new law in Germany defines that it is not allowed to sale a game (by mail order) that has not been approved to be harmless for children. We are currently not sure if this also affects our internet shop or not. So we decided to take off all our games and stop selling them until this is completely cleared. We are sorry about this." So it looks like the game would still be sold. Edit: Ahh, but it's not the same company. The company who made Der Wurm, along with the side scrolling space shooter is called Digital Nightmares. I remember that now. Google's not helping much though... I can't find the game anywhere. |
I think I found a flash version of it - http://www.f5files.kneib.biz/wurm.html - not much help I know, but meh.
|
Meh, that's not anywhere close. But thanks for the five-minute distraction! :)
