M.A.X. [GOG]

Hey,

first of all I have to say hello to all around as this is my first entry in here.
During the last weeks i took a fancy to all my old dos games as I found several floppies in some old dusty boxes... Then I remembered a game, actually I can't find it anymore, it was like an adventure, you looked on the scene frome above, had a choice of some heroes (also male and female(!) giants), could equip them with tools and weapons, and I think you also had some magic spells if you gained more and more experience. The scenery was little bit ancientish, but fantasy, all desert-like and (I guess it was in the beginning) you had to fight your way out of an arena.
That game influenced some weeks (or months) of my life as it was in some way addictive. :w00t:

By the way, I've been searching for M.A.X. and also Z and you've been talking about that games, too - they are being sold on ebay and other auctions, but maybe they are also abandoned, hopefully. Does anyone know about that?

I'm pretty sure this game is Dark Sun - Shattered Lands

Z is available at CDAccess. MAX is a part of this collection.

I paid $14.95 for that collection in retail store. This seems to be some sort of rip off. (add $10-$15 for shipping and you have $35-$40 price)

I believe that both games can be still found out in used software stores (at least I saw couple of copies of MAX and MAX2, as well Z.

Wow, you are great! Thx. Maybe I can get or buy it (them, wake of the ravager, too) somewhere as it seems not to be abandoned yet. Memories become alive...
Let's see if Z is worth buying as I always got washed up in the advanced levels :ok:

I am not sure how available software is in Germany. (Some other members might be able to help you out)

Is there any software store around?

There are some older games re-release series. One of the better knows is green pepper games. These are usually sold in supermarkets or electronicmarkets. I've seen "Z" often, so it should be no problem to get it somewhere. You'll just have to keep your eyes open.

Even in Germany we seem to have software stores... :D
I just searched thru ebay, there were no offers for "Z" in Germany, for M.A.X. only one in Belgium and one in the UK I think.
Yeah, I heard of Green Pepper Games, those huge electronic stores still sell games, that seem to be "technically out of date" for a song.

I know, I used to live in Hanau (near Frankfurt a.m.) and we had game rental store. It was nice to go and rent a game. (only PC and Amiga games at the time) :ok: :D

i found both of the dark sun games (search for "dark sun" on the official abandonware ring and a couple of sites with them on will come up :P)
