When you only get one result when searching for a game, the website should take you to that result's page, instead of showing a list with just one item :P
|
And when you're in a forum that you've got no new posts in but don't go to the thread index for that forum instead just go straight to the forum index the posts should read as all read. This post probably made no sense
|
not a bad idea.

it works like that on HOTU.

Personally I like it the way it is now, because it makes it easier for us admins to quality-check title screens in a very simple way.
If the search brought you directly to the game page, we would have to either log into the admin section, and browse through all the games to find the title screen we want to look at, or browse through the entire genre listing on the site. But my vote is a bit biased, because of that. Direct hit = more work for me :bleh: The title listing = just a single extra click for you users. |
Don't you mean one push of a button. There's no 'GO!' or 'SEARCH' btton next to the thing at the top.
|
No, I think he was referring to the extra click you have to make now.
|
Yes, you have to click on the title as it is now.
Change it, and I have to do a lot of extra work to see the title, in order to quality-check it. Now Easy for me / users have to click on the title = pretty user friendly for both. Change it to a direct hit to the game if there is only one hit Hellish for me / extremelly easy for the users = an admin hating his job, and lazy users. |
Actually,:
Now Easy for Tom/Hellish for users = lazy admin, a user never coming back to this site. Suggestion in changing Hellish for Tom/Easy for users = an admin hating his job, more users on the site. :bleh: |
You could just force the search to show a list by adding some special character in the search query, like !, so you could search for "!Some Game" and get a list. Or add a special search in the admin panel that'd always show a list.
Or... I don't know, I can only come up with geeky solutions. And yeah I did get the idea from HOTU :bleh: |
