Mystery Robot battle game?
Hi guys,
First post, apologies for it being a request already and I hope I've got this in the right place. I'm trying to track down and old PC game, that ran on DOS (I think) I had a demo of a it in the mid nineties, free with PC world. In this game, you built a giant fighting robot, complete with guns for arms and all that, and then fought other robots, avoided obstacles, gun turrets, that sort of thing. So far so standard, as there are about a million old PC games with this style of play. However, this wasn't a 3d game with an inside the cockpit view, nor was it part of any mechwarrior or battletech franchise. Instead it was a top down (or possibly slightly slanted...) viewpoint, quite cartoony and looked a bit like a more sedate Alien Breed...I think it was a British game, but it wasn't Z... Any clues? I'm going mental looking for it. Thanks for any help you can offer. |
Alright Stiff - I remember something like this, too.
Probably from a PC World/Zone demo disc. The time-frame's right if you associate it with Z. I don't think it was Titanicus as that was a turn-based board-type game. I'll have a look because I wouldn't mind playing something sedate. Micro-management games become really irritating after a while... They grind. |
Some vague images race through my mind...
Or maybe this? http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/robo-rumble |
I think the game you are looking for is Full Metal Jacket. It's from 1996, from Mirinae Software. I only found some screenshots at HotUd. You should check it if it's the one you want :)

Full Metal Jacket :rocks:
It's almost as good as Cannon Fodder. Cheers Hunvagy! |
