I just found out last night that DOSBox 0.62 has been released over at the DOSBox homepage. I tried it myself and it seems to be running games much smoother than I had them before. Maybe they've fixed a few other problems that people have been having as well. Give it a try! :D

I don't understand anything from the changes, but maybe I'll give it a try this week.

Smoother? Maybe, but Duke Nukem 3D runs with it even much slower now as in the earlier version (s). For that game it's worse now...

Duke Nukem is open source now, meaning that there are dozens of modern interpreters for it available on the web with improved graphics and stuff.

For me it's much more compatible. Some new features are:

- SB 16 emulation (16 Bit output = better sound)
- IPX emulation (old games playable thru network)
- more graphics filters

Experienced users should try CVS builds from mypixels.dk. There are even new features like D3D support and automatic time sync available, which aren't in the official build.

Actually it is better, even Blood & Magic that had choppy sound in the previous version has no problems with it now. But now it's also slower with this version of DosBox... <_<

Change cpu cycles' speed!(?)

FreeFreddy 05-10-2004 06:00 AM

Already at 11500 - 12500 (max for my PC). <_<

i think dynamic core works with blood and magic

you should able to atleast double your cpu cycles then

Hmm, yeah probably. Thanks, I'll try it out. :)
