yeah one of Sierra Games is out. After Lucasfilm i love Sierra Games the most.

I used to have this game years ago and all those frustrating parts that made me want to headbang the monitor haven't become any easier. I'm talking primarily about the submarine simulator part, what the hell is the deal with that? Also, even someone who did shell out his/her $20 for the game back then wouldn't want to screw around with copy protection to this ridiculous extent.

Speaking of protection, I don't want to play the doomsayer's part but isn't this game under ESA protection now?

Sierra and Lucasfilm Games has a Limit of 15 Years of Protection. the Game is from 1989 so:

1989 + 15 = 2004

Since 2004 is this game not more protected from ESA. That is what i understand after reading the rules.

Personally, I didn't think the sub simulation was all that bad. What got me was the scuba diving and trying to find my intended landing spot. I have always disliked the hard-copy copy protection because I would always lose the manual or the code wheel or the super secret decoder lens or whatever other ridiculous feature they could dream up.

When the exact publication date remains unknown (ie we only have the year), the game is classified as Abandonware on January 1st of the next year after the one resulting from the above calculation.
When we know the month, it is classified as AW in the beginning of next month of the calculated year.
Finally, in the few lucky cases when we know the exact day of publication, the game is classified as AW in the next day after 15 years pass.
Just to clarify some things. ^_^

If someone have a saved game/s after the submarine part, please send it to me: *EMAIL REMOVED*

I'm stuck in this part for years now, used the manual and the walkthrough, but no luck though.

Does anyone have the saved games for this? Specifically for AFTER that battle with the Battleship...?

Thanks!

Geezer 23-04-2008 10:42 PM

I have a bunch of saved games still but I can't remember the exact sequence of events where you are at. I have one called ice station. Does that sound about right? The score there is 140.
