Try DOSBox. It works on XP for most DOS games. Pirates should definitely rund in DOSBox. Make sure you set it up properly, though. There's a nice tutorial by Anubis, which is very helpful.

Could you be a bit more specific, perhaps? What doesn't work?

You have to post details on your system and specific problem, so that we can try to help you.

1. DosBox downloaded?
2. Installed?
3. Properly configured?
4. Including mounting of the game directory on startup?

If any of the answers is a "NO" - go and do what it asked for.
If all answers are "YES" - post exact information on what are you trying to do and what error message (messages) you get.

what games???

bruno 09-08-2005 02:49 PM

all the games that work with dos.

Rogue 09-08-2005 02:55 PM

All the game that run with DOS?

Then you are lucky one, as most of them do not run for me, and even if they do, they do not have any sound. ;)

That's one of the reasons we use DOSBox, VDMSound, ScummVM, Cirtual PC etc.

To use DOSBox, you have to follow tutorial mentioned above, and it works, as 80-90% of users on this page are using DOSBox and it works for all of us. Rest of us are fortunate enough to have an old computer with Win98 or DOS installed.
