Aparently 5thhorseman doesn't mind telling every "why can't I download this game" post with a "It's ESA protected you dumb spit," but it occours to me that there must be a reason so many people don't get the hint.

It seems to me that the current ESA protected button isn't "No Download"y enough. So I submit for your approvial a new and (hopefully) improved ESA protected button. Here's a side by side comparison:

<div align="center">http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...SidebySide.gif</div>
It's a little bigger than the old one, and it didn't take me too long to put together, but what do you think?

...yeah, I should just stick to writing reviews.

Yeah i have noticed alot of n00bs dont seem to get the point, and r-e-s-p-e-c-t goes to 5th horseman for being able to write the same thing over and over for them. When i first came here i didnt really know much about abandonware and the rules that applied, but it didnt take that long to work it out. But i still think there'll be some stupid people that come in not knowing what an ESA is, furiously trying to work out why its getting in the way of their beloved old game, and why we havent done anything to prevent it. Just because they couldnt be bothered finding out themselves on previous threads, they all have to make a new one every time. You can change it if you want, but i honestly dont think it'll make much of a difference. <_<

While I agree it is annoying, I don't think it is nice using names like dumb spit for these people.

I think guesst was quoting, so IF the name was in fact used, you should direct your complaint at the_fifth_horseman.

The name is secondary. The button people, the button!

I wanted something more "no" and what's more "no" than the interneational "no" symbol. So throw that on top of the normal download button and maybe people will get the hint.

I've been debating shrinking the circle so that the total graphic can be shortened. Feedback?

Actually, it's not my decision. I'm just trying to drum up support before taking it to the powers that be.

Well the button you proposed is much clearer and obvious...

I think that if the current button said "No Download" instead of "No Go!", the effect would be the same as with guesst's new button.

Even so, I believe there would be always some guys making the question "how do I download this game?"... some people, even having the answer "you can't download it because it is protected" 10 times, still ask that...

It doesn't really matter how big and flashy the button is, I'm afraid.

Most people assume that the button is just there for show in any case. As we are an abandonware site, naturally we have the games. Otherwise, why would we have the reviews?

It's newbie logic, and it never fails.

I like your button, i think it can help, but about mistakes the newbies, will make somes mistakes ever times they come here, it is normal, but coming to the topic, i like the button.

What if the text was "Download NOT allowed due to LEGAL reasons".

Or perhaps if there was no icon at all. Just have nothing there where a get now is.
